L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation and Powder Review & Demo

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation & Powder
($11.88-12.99)

Hey guys! There's so much hype about the new L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation and Powder, that I wanted to put this to the test and see how it worked for my combination skin. This product was specifically designed for those of us with combination skin, so it's nice to see that something like this is out there. I always feel a little passed off when it comes to foundations because I am always in between dry and oily skin. For this review and test, I didn't use a primer and I only used the intended moisturizers and creams underneath as a base. I used Embryolisse Lait-Creme Fluid and my Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream. I also used my HG Eve Pearl corrector concealer, because I wanted to see how this foundation worked on top of that. It worked great. Also, throughout the day I did not blot, add more powder, or do anything except let the foundation do it's thing.

First impression of this was good. I really liked the feel of it on my skin. It looked like skin. It blended beautifully with the Real Techniques Complexion Sponge. It also dried to a perfect finish and I didn't feel like I had anything on my face. It covered my redness, patchiness, and discoloration really well and gave me an even, flawless complexion. The powder added a touch more coverage and smoothed my skin even more than the foundation did. I also liked how it set my under-eye concealer.

As the day went on, I remained very pleased with this foundation. Around the 6 hour mark, I began to notice some oil and it slowly increased until I took it off, about 8 hours into wearing it. For not touching up, blotting, or doing anything of the sort - I am impressed with how long it lasted for me. Typically, I need to blot a few hours into any foundation or BB/CC cream that I wear.

8 Hours of L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation and Powder later...End of Night shot.
As you can see, I had some fading in the areas of my face that I touched or my son cuddled me, but overall it still looks pretty decent. I would definitely blot or powder my face to get rid of the oil, but the oiliness wasn't bad compared to other products I've tried and left on my face to evaluate. I am going to say that this is a good product from the drugstore that is in the Matte family and is great for people with combination skin types.

*Dry to Normal skin types: make sure you use a really good exfoliator and moisturizer so this foundation doesn't cling to any dry areas. You may not need the powder.
*Oily skin types: make sure you use a primer on those areas that tend to be really oily for you and definitely get the powder. It will help with oil control and keep your foundation looking amazing throughout the day.
