Hey darlings! Ever since I got my hands on Colourpop's Nillionaire
Eyeshadow, I've been wearing this look non-stop this month! If you
enjoyed Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze, you will love
this shadow. It's a more glittery and shimmery version of it. Also, if
you are looking for a very light-weight tinted moisturizer for the hot
summer months, I highly recommend Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Enhancer.
Here is a pretty simple makeup look and talk-through video for you.
As always, thank you for reading. Much love. Xo. Kari.
I just received some beautiful baked eyeshadows in the mail from Elf Cosmetics. I bought these three after falling in love with some online swatches of the colors. I decided to create an eyelook using all three of the colors in Pixie, Passion Purple, and Burnt Plum. I hope you like this look! Check out my video below to see how I achieved this look. XoXo, Kari.
Hello guys! I have a new foundation routine featuring Illuminare's Mattifying Foundation which is a mineral liquid foundation that provides a very nice full coverage look. This company makes cruelty-free cosmetics that are also gluten free. I will be exploring more of their products since the foundation is such a hit with me.
For concealing I like to use the Smashbox Camera Ready Concealer for any break outs or dark spots on my face. For under my eyes, I recently fell in love with Maybelline's FaceStudio Master Conceal - this concealer is very pigmented and does a great job covering up my dark circles and it doesn't accentuate my under-eye bags (which is a RARE thing for me). I can create the uplifting triangle shape with the concealer without fear that it will highlight the bags that I tend to have under my eyes. To do a little extra, full coverage concealing...
I use the ever-trusted LA Girl HD Pro Conceal on just the areas where the blue tends to shine through underneath my eye bags. I love the combination of the two. They don't cake up on me and they set nicely with the Ben Nye Banana Powder (pressed). To set my face I use another long time favorite: CoverGirl Advance Radiance Powder.
My Full Coverage Foundation Look
And there you have it! Check out my video to see me use these products in action. I hope this helps you discover or try out some products for a full coverage look you may be looking to achieve.
Hey guys! I've found a few gems for you to check out while I was browsing the Essence domain at Ulta. I picked up a few eyeshadows that caught my eye and a mascara.
This eyeshadow palette literally took my breath away when I saw it. It all started with the beautiful pinky-peach shade on the bottom of the All About Sunrise palette ($4.99 at Ulta). The shades are bronzed and packed with beautiful shimmers. I also picked up the All About Nude palette which has some more taupe, purple, and grey shades.
Next up are the Metal Glam Eyeshadows ($2.99). You can use these wet or dry. They are shimmery eyeshadows that I would most likely use as top coats... or on their own for a lighter/more sheer coverage on the lids. They are beautiful. I have the colors Golden Up and Frosted Apple.
Lastly, I discovered a mascara that works so well at providing volume and length. It is the I <3 Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara ($4.99). The brush is a bit big and spiky at the end, but it doesn't seem to make a mess on my eyes (I'm also very careful anyway). It lasts all day long for me. The only thing I noticed is that it did transfer on my lower part of my eye depending on the kind of concealer I wore.
To see swatches and a demo of me using some of the eyeshadow, check out my video! Make sure to subscribe, like, and share the video when you're done. I appreciate it so much. Love, me!
Liquid mineral foundations are not very common, just yet. Usually, you'll find mineral foundations in the form of powders, whether cream, cream-to-powder, or loose powder formulations of them. It's nice to find a company that makes a liquid form of mineral foundation. This company is called Illuminare. The company creates products that are gluten free, vegan friendly, and cruelty free. They also make mineral blushes ($18), mineral eye colors ($18), mineral eye liner ($21), Mineral Lip Glosses ($16-17), and some beauty tools.
Back to foundation - Illuminare created three different kinds of liquid mineral foundation to suit different skin types. They have their moisturizing foundation for dry skin, concealing foundation for normal/combo skin, and mattifying foundation for oily skin. All retail for $27 and you get .5 oz of product in a tube.
The color ranges run darker than usual, so I highly suggest you take caution in ordering the color; know that they run really dark. It would be a good idea to buy their sampler pack ($5.95), so you can get a feel for what your skin will like and what color you should go for.
I really love this mineral foundation product, and so does my skin. I have combination skin that consists of a super oily t-zone and very dry skin on the outer perimeters of my face. My favorite formulation of the mineral foundations had to be the moisturizing one and the mattifying one. Now that summer is around the corner, I opted to buy the full version of the mattifying foundation.. but come fall and winter, it'll definitely be the moisturizing one that I'll be using.
The formula lasted on my oily skin for up to 5-6 hours before I needed to blot. That's very good considering that I haven't found any mattifying product to last on my face up to date. I say that the best ones all usually last around 6 hours before I need to do that.
One layer of Illuminare Mattifying Mineral Foundation
Nice coverage - helps conceal imperfections and breakouts.
Doesn't settle into fine lines or enlarge pores.
If you have any dry patches, make sure you exfoliate, moisturize, and perhaps prime them before you use this product. I also recommend a certain way to apply this product. For more info, check out my review and demo below.
Have you heard of Earthing? How about Earthing as a beauty ritual?
Earthing is the action of walking on grass in bare feet; soaking up the earths energy through the soles of your feet. It's an energetic flow between the Earth and you...your body becomes permeated
with negative charged free electrons. This process then equalizes your body to the same electric
energy level as the earth.
Here are some benefits of Earthing:
Reducing inflammation by defusing excess positive electrons
Reducing chronic pain
Improving Sleep
Increasing Energy
Lowering stress and promoting calmness by reducing stress hormones.
Normalizing biological rhythms including circadian rhythm
Improving blood pressure and blood flow
Relieving muscle tension and headache
Lessens menstrual and female hormone symptoms
Speeds healing- used in some places to prevent bed sores
Can eliminate jet lag
Protecting the body from EMFs
Shortens recovery time from injury or athletic activity
Reducing or eliminating snoring
Helping support adrenal health
Consider Earthing a way to re-charge your body with good vibes and regeneration. It's grounding and healing.
Now... as a beauty ritual! One of the causes of aging has to do with stress, right? What a great addition to add into your beauty regimen. Make sure you go barefoot as often as you can. If you can't get outside to do this (especially for those of us in bitter winter territories), you can also try out some Earthing devices that pull those electrons through your outlets from the earth. Check these out.
