Another Zodiac Makeup Look has arrived! If you've been following my series on YouTube, you will know that I am creating different makeup looks for the different zodiac signs. I try to choose colors that mimic the staple personalities of these signs. I also wanted to create colors that would go well with the signs. If you happen to be a Capricorn, leave a comment below and let me know if you identify with most of the zodiac personality interpretations that you have found/read... also, let me know what you are like! I'm curious to know about you.

Exciting News for Beauty Mind Spirt | Elephant Journal

http://tinyurl.com/bmsonej
Dear friends!

Exciting news has arrived. If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that about a week ago I announced that something really exciting could happen. I really wanted to share what it might be at that time, but I didn't want to jinx myself or put any expectation on it. Well, the news is here and it's exciting news to share. Elephant Journal published an article I wrote on how to release stress, anxiety, and depression using simple nature-involved activities and a bath ritual to invoke a meditation and intention-setting practice. If you have a moment, please check out the article on Elephant Journal by clicking here, and share it with your friends. If we get a lot of views for it, they may feature my article in a special section on their website!

Thank you for supporting me and being a part of this journey with me. It is your positive vibes and well wishes that help me to achieve these kinds of beautiful accomplishments.

At the same time, if they were in a mood - you'd want to give them a little space. hehe. I created this look to express Arie's strong will and mindset. If you know someone who is an Aries and would appreciate this look, please share this video with them! If you re-create this look, I'd love to see it! Tag me on social media. I'd love to see it.

Forever Devoted

My life has been touched a million times over by incredible souls and beauties alike. There are those moments when someone thinks of me, and a lot of times, sends me love and holds space for me. Sometimes, I sense them and sometimes I don't, but they always reach me...always to become a part of my subconscious reality where I receive them...where I know you beyond you. These sentiments are mirrored back to all of you...whether you feel them or not...and I am constantly humbled and moved by the love that we honor and build together. There is never a moment when I take it for granted. I've been in and out of quiet spaces and hermit-like habits for the past few years...as my life and body changed so much, and, as I underwent a transformation to get me here to this day. From this quieter space, I observe my dear friends and send blessings to your lives and hold space in my heart as you flourish on your journeys. I am always with you, despite the days counted that we haven't spoken. There is nothing that separates my unconditional love and desire to support and lift all of you as you go through your human experiences. I just want you to know that. I want you to know how much you're treasured by this big ol' heart of mine. Forever devoted to the promises of love and friendship. To you. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being a part of my journey. I love you always. - me

Circa Beauty Face Powder Just Upped My Makeup Game!

I love it when my friends (who know how much I love makeup) are excited to tell me about a product they are using! It's kind of like they are supporting my makeup blog addiction by being unintentional enablers ha-ha! However, this one particular day, while receiving a video message (we prefer to send videos to each other versus texts)... my friend Kaitlin told me about this new face powder she was using. When she held up the compact, it looked super fancy and I immediately wrote it off as a "this is probably way too expensive, shouldn't even try to convince myself to get it" item. Well, then she preceded to tell me she picked it up at Walgreens...and uttered the words, "Circa Beauty" right after that. I remembered a video I had watched a few weeks prior from GlamLifeGuru on YouTube and she talked about Circa Beauty and that it was a brand headed up by Eva Mendes. Tati of GlamLifeGuru always gives the best reviews (totally subscribe to her if you haven't already) and since she liked it, I remember being intrigued about Circa Beauty ever since... and when my friend raved about it to me - I knew I had to try it! On top of that... this brand is CRUELTY-FREE! It's so great to see more drugstore cruelty free makeup brands out there.

I went to the nearest store and picked up their bb cream, face powder, and nude lipstick in the color Brigitte. And... what did I think about it? Check out my review video below to find out! :)

Such Vulnerable Things

We can be such vulnerable things. There's a grace to the unfolding of our actualized traumas. A beauty in holding them with such gentle observation. There's complexity in our processes. A mirrored duality of contrasts, with a chance to always evolve and grow. Our bodies are the soils...the happenings are the seeds...our realizations and computings are the waters.

Anxiety, Depression, and Stress Relieving Ritual - BeautyMindSpirit

Watch Video

There are moments in our lives when we experience high stress, anxiety, and depression. I believe when we experience such feelings, our body is trying to tell us something. Maybe we need to slow down... or maybe we are not following the path that makes us truly happy. Perhaps these feelings are little warning signs that we need to pay attention to something. In order to get to the bottom of it, it's important to quiet down the mind and calm the body.

Here are some tips that will do the job:

1) Be in nature. In this video, I show you visuals of being outside and in nature. Go outside and take a walk, run, or just sit in the grass. Did you know that we share DNA with all life on this planet? There is something very powerful and magical in that. We are often too disconnected from nature and I believe we suffer for it.

2) Be near water. Water is really cleansing, relaxing, and soothing. The sound of water can immediately calm you down. I also feel extremely contemplative when I am sitting near water. If you need to clear your mind, I recommend sitting near a body of water. If you don't have access to one, sitting in the grass and looking up at the sky will also help you clear your mind.

3) Earthing. This method has been shown to do so many wonderful things for the body. According to this research study, many people experienced a range of improvements not limited to: reduced pain, reduced inflammation, increased relaxation, ability to sleep better, lowered stress, improved blood pressure, etc. I also highly recommend checking out Wellness Momma's blog post about her experience with Earthing. She also has some more interesting information about it. In fact, you should probably just follow her blog if you haven't already, because she's pretty amazing.

Why did we ever stop wearing shoes and walk around barefoot? Whenever I walk barefoot, I feel a sense of peace in my body. I feel connected to the Earth I live on. I feel alive again.

Anxiety, Depression, and Stress Relieving Ritual

Now... to share my stress, depression, and anxiety releasing ritual! For this ritual, we are going to sit in a bath and do some meditation and intention setting with our mind. Did you know that thoughts, intentions, prayer and other units of consciousness can directly influence our physical material world? I highly recommend reading this article by Arjun Walia. Arjun did a great job explaining and researching this topic by including some impressive scientific studies and research on the matter. Arjun is one of my favorite writers for the Collective Evolution site, and I recommend checking out his other articles.

We will be using our minds, intentions, and thoughts to alter our state of worry. Let's begin.

What you'll need:

  • Candles (for mood setting... plus the energy of fire is symbolic for rebirth)
  • 1/4 cup of Epsom Salt
*Epsom Salt contains magnesium, which soothes the central nervous system and promotes relaxation in the body. Think of this in terms of anything tense in the body. If you have a tense muscle, magnesium will help loosen it.
  • 1/4 cup of Sea Salt
*Sea Salt is packed with naturally occurring minerals from the Earth. Our bodies are so depleted from minerals and nutrients these days, that it's always a good idea to absorb them whenever possible. When we are stressed, our bodies tend to lose nutrients. Soaking in this bath will help regain some of it. Also, sea salt will help clear your auric field (or clear your energy field, in other terms). Any sort of stuck and heavy energy around you can be cleansed by using Sea Salt.
  • 15-30 Drops of Essential Oil(s) - Choose something that promotes stress reduction or calming effects. (I recommend this, this, this, or this).
*I chose to use Aveda's Stress fix oil from the Stress Fix family, because it contains organic lavender, lavandin, and clary sage - which has been studied by the company and proven to reduce stress.
  • Small dish
  • Tea of choice (one that promotes calming effects. (I recommend this, or this)
Instructions: The first thing you want to do is mix the Epsom Salt and Sea Salt in a small bowl.  Both of these salts will also detox the body, so make sure to drink a lot of water after your bath ritual. Add essential oil(s) and mix with your hands. As you mix them together, start imagining the words: calm, relaxed, and fearless. These words are the power words that are the exact opposite of anxiety, stress, and depression. By concentrating on them, you will begin to mold your reality to fit those vibrations.  Prepare your bath and tea. Keep close.

The Meditation Ritual
Enter bath and begin to connect with the water and focusing on those words again: calm, relaxed, fearless. You can begin to say "I am fearless. I am calm. I am relaxed." Any time a stressful thought enters your mind, say the opposite of it three times. Begin to imagine all of the chaotic and heavy energy fall off of your body. The sea salt will do this on its own, but concentrating with it... will make it a major release. Be in gratitude. During the endurance of your praying ritual, give thanks to all aspects that are a part of it. Be grateful to the water, the salt, the plants that make the essential oil, and to life's journey. I know you are releasing something, but every experience is an important one. Be grateful to the lesson of this release. In the moments following this gratitude session, let your mind be still and listen intently for any insight or message.

After you have finished with your meditation, enjoy the rest of your bath with some music and your tea of choice. Tea will also help you unwind and provide the nutrients your body needs inside.

You can do this ritual as often as needed and I recommend 2-3 times a month for maintenance.
If you try this ritual, let me know how it works for you. Or, if you have other stress-relieving recommendations to share, please do so in the comments.

Share this with a friend who may need to try this ritual. And remember, you are beautiful.

Xoxo, Kari

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash and Replenishing Rich Moisturizer Review

Review of Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer and Moisturizing Facial Wash - BeautyMindSpirit
I decided to try out Simple's Moisturizing Facial Wash and their Replenishing Rich Moisturizer. I'm a HUGE fan of their Cleansing Facial Wipes, because they do a great job removing makeup from my face and not drying my skin out in the process... so I figured I would give these a go.

Unfortunately, these products didn't work for me. I didn't think the cleanser cleaned my face very well and the moisturizer didn't really do anything for my skin. If you have combination/oily skin and have a concern of anti-aging (I'm in my 30s) - then I wouldn't pick these up. If you have a normal skin or dehydrated skin type, and younger skin... you would probably like these products.

I just found my FAVORITE skincare products ever and I will be doing a skincare routine post/video about it in the next few weeks. Make sure you subscribe to my channel on youtube and follow my blog so you don't miss it.

Thanks for reading! xoxo, Kari
